You will support the design management processes across various RIBA stages of architectural projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Working closely with our design team and project leads, this role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in either construction or design management who are looking to further develop their skills in managing the design process from start to finish.
Experience as a Design Manager, although preferred, is not required. Training and support will be provided accordingly.
Reporting to: Design Management Lead on a day-to-day basis

Key Responsibilities:
- Team Collaboration & Reporting: Liaise with the design management team and project leads to ensure smooth task coordination and provide regular progress updates to line managers.
- Programme Development: Develop and maintain project-specific programmes for internal and external purposes, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Design & Construction Coordination: Assist in managing both the design and construction processes from concept to delivery, ensuring that design intent is maintained across all disciplines.
- Project Setup & Documentation: Collaborate with the project lead to establish project setups post-appointment, preparing critical documentation such as the project execution plan, schedules, and registers.
- Quality Control & Assurance: Participate in quality assurance checks, ensuring that designs meet standards and procedures.
- Change & Risk Management: Help manage design changes and risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring all adjustments are documented and communicated effectively.
- Invoicing & Financial Monitoring: Assist in project invoicing and tracking financial performance, ensuring budgets are monitored and cost control measures are implemented.
- Project Compliance: Ensure adherence to project execution plans and compliance with company standards and regulations.
- Fee Proposals & Appointments: Assist in preparing fee proposals, including fee calculations, and reviewing appointments for potential projects.
- Educational Background: Formal qualification in Architecture, Project Management, Engineering, Building Surveying, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional work experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in software such as Powerproject, Rapport3, Deltek, CMap, and Microsoft Office.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Language Skills: Candidates should be fluent in written and spoken English.
- Numerical & Analytical Skills: Ability to collect, analyse, and interpret project data for accurate reporting and financial tracking.
- Problem-Solving & Attention to Detail: Strong organisational skills with a proactive approach to managing tasks and resolving issues.
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations: Familiarity with UK planning, building regulations, and RIBA Workstages is essential.
- Team Player: Approachable and collaborative, with a willingness to contribute and assist across various project stages as required.
