About the Role

Project BIM Coordinator/Manager
£45,000 - £60,000 +
SE London/Hybrid 3 days in and 2 days out

We are representing a medium-sized architecture practice in London, currently seeking a talented BIM Coordinator/Manager to join their growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the practice as they enter the planning stage of a large-scale, complex project set to run for several years. In addition to this flagship scheme, the practice has a strong portfolio of other projects, making it an excellent time to join. There is also significant scope for progression, as the role offers a pathway to take on wider BIM responsibilities currently overseen by a director who is spread across multiple roles.
The practice is open to considering two types of candidates:
  1. An experienced BIM Coordinator ready to step up into a BIM Manager position in the future.
  2. A seasoned BIM Manager who can take on practice-wide responsibilities while focusing on the large-scale project as a priority.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to make an impact in a forward-thinking practice and help shape its BIM strategy moving forward.

The BIM Coordinator is the focal point of the BIM execution on a project. The position requires the individual to take ownership of the projects allocated to them and ensure that it is undertaken to a high professional standard, ensuring that they achieve programmes within target. The role will require the individual to take responsibility for the day to day control of the BIM aspects of a project in detail, and liaising with the Project Associate and Director to ensure that the design is developed in accordance with the BIM requirements within the brief.

The duties of a BIM Coordinator include assisting the current BIM Manager with BIM software implementation across the practice, ensuring standardisation of processes, and maintaining quality control. They are also involved in training staff, suggesting technical solutions, and assisting with ensuring teams are aligned with the practice BIM goals and compliance regulations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Refer back to the Associate or Directors when guidance is required or where there may be risks or key decisions required.
• To build and strengthen existing relationships with clients and external consultants.
• Manage and oversee allocated BIM projects to achieve the required quality, programme and resourcing.
• Review staff resourcing on allocated projects.
• Enforce the practice’s procedures and policies and assist in their improvement.
• Be aware of and comply with all aspects of our terms of appointment on each project.
• Developing and implementing BIM protocols and systems on projects.
• Coordinating project model deliveries and reviewing models to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Leading BIM coordination meetings to discuss project updates and issues.
• Creating training materials and conducting training sessions for BIM software users.
• Liaising with other consultants to facilitate seamless workflow integration.
• Maintaining the Project Information Model and overseeing data management throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Assist the BIM Manager with

• Developing and implementing BIM workflow and driving standard usage of BIM and Revit within and outside the firm
• Overseeing the use of BIM/Revit software firm-wide, including installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting all BIM installations as well as analysing and solving BIM user issues
• Provide end-user training, support and leadership
• Support project teams by, managing and creating content library files and templates, creating and enforcing standards, and evaluating project models
• Support project start-up coordination, helping teams develop strategies for effective delivery of quality documents, and set-up each project, thereby ensuring that each one is set up correctly.
• Attend and report back on relevant industry events on behalf of the company
